'THE WORLD OF BANJO'

Grade 3 - 6 Programme

One of Australia's greatest writers comes to life!

Andrew Barton "Banjo" Patterson wrote about life in the Australian outback at a time when few others were, and in a way that no other has bettered.

Through our 'World of Banjo' show we bring his fabulous characters to life, and explore his language in a brand new way.

We use audience participation in every show, making your students the stars of each incursion!

Each performance contains three of Banjo's most famous works:

MULGA BILL'S BICYCLE

When a man who thinks he can do everything better than anyone else, meets a contraption that can't be tamed, chaos and hilarity are bound to occur. Watch language spring to life before your eyes as Mulga Bill's wildest ride takes place right before your eyes!

THE MAN FROM IRONBARK

Things are moving slow in Ironbark, so a bloke from a small town decides to head for the big smoke of Sydney in search of adventure. What he finds is a sneaky barber who decides he's going to play a little trick. But things don't exactly go to plan...

THE GEEBUNG POLO CLUB

A sporting rivalry so great it echoes through ages! See the prim and proper members of the exclusive "Cuff & Collar Team" head up the country to take on the roughest, toughest bunch of players you've ever known. The one, and only GEEBUNG POLO CLUB!

It will get wild, it will get rowdy. But will there be a winner in end?

With a focus on language, poetry and Australiana, this is a fantastic show for looking at Literature, Australian History and characters
